Still watching the birds

Gambel quail and fuzzy sparrow

Having no wheels means staying at home, a lot, where I spend many hours a day watching the birds.

02 698 Scrub jay Yarnell AZ (1024x1000)

Scrub jay

I’m not complaining.  At least not until the truck repair bill comes.  And then I might look like this ornery jay.

But in the meantime…

04 651 White-crowned female sparrow Yarnell AZ (1024x677)

Female white-crowned sparrow

Mostly I see the regular seed eaters.

05 654 House sparrow Yarnell AZ (1024x728)

House sparrow

Multiple different species of sparrows not always easy to identify.

06 009 Bridled titmouse Yarnell AZ (731x736)

Bridled titmouse

My first sighting this year of the titmouse, such a delightful word.

It’s really like a feeding frenzy.

08 672 Coopers Hawk Yarnell AZ (897x696)

Until the local Coopers hawk shows up.

Then it gets kind of quiet around here.

Here’s hoping that all of you have a Very Merry Christmas, or whatever you want to call it.

This is awesome!!! I love all your birds. It’s really a lot of fun to do and it does look like you are in a beautiful area to do it all. Thinking about you…..and if I were in your area, we’d share some turkey together:) Whether it’s a busy or quiet day, I hope you enjoy. I took a nice walk this morning and took in some of that fresh cold mountain air:) Abrazos mi amiga gitana:)
